ABOUT ME

CHRISTINE O'SHEA

Professional Experience:

Christine O’Shea serves as a Science 5th Grade Teacher at Hyalite Elementary School,Bozeman, MT. She also managed a grant (NESSP) Nasa Earth and Space Science Pipeline to provide professional development in science to K-12 teachers and serves as an instructor through MSU Billings Extended University Campus, and (OPI) Office of Public Instruction MT, teaching Best Practices in Science. She has over 12 years of teaching experience. She has served on numerous state and district committees in science. She has participated in various math and science professional development grants over the years involving lesson study, best practices and curriculum development. She participated in the Montana Partnership with Regions for Excellence in STEM (MPRES) grant and is a certified trainer to train other teachers about NGSS and best practices in science and engineering. She has been awarded numerous grants to bring science and technology resources to her classroom and school. Prior to teaching, she worked in Business Development and Sales Management for various companies in the technology industry. She earned a BA from Mt. St. Mary’s University of Maryland, an MAT from George Fox University and is a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT). http://boardcertifiedteachers.org/

Personal:

I am married to Mike O'Shea and we have a daughter, Michelle who is 18 years old and just started college. We have lived in Bozeman for 11 years and enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, biking, fly-fishing, jogging and traveling to new places. My hobbies are gardening and painting.
